Sarah Godwin (Nell) was born to Charles Edward and Verma (West) Brumley in Alabama on July 28, 1941. She moved to Tyler, TX in 1958. She started her career being a seamstress for Levi Strauss and finished out with Buddy Schoellkopf. Sarah, as many would know her by Nell, was a dedicated wife and mother and a fixer for all things. She spent her time with attending practices and events of the ARC Special Olympics with her daughter Rhonda.
She is preceded in death by her mother, father, husband JE, her daughter Vickie Godwin and sister Ruby Ann Alexander. She is survived by her son David Godwin of Tyler, TX, daughter Rhonda Godwin of Tyler, TX, and daughter Brenda Godwin of Tyler, TX, and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Sarah will be held Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home - Cemetery & Mausoleum, 12053 State Highway 64 West, Tyler, TX 75704. A graveside service will occur Friday, October 18, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home - Cemetery & Mausoleum.
