Robert graduated from Oklahoma Christian College with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business, laying the foundation for a successful career ahead. He was drafted and served his country as a member of the United States Army, stationed at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas, with the Second Armored Division.
After his military service, Robert dedicated over 25 years of his life through his work in Human Resources for the Texas Department of Health. His commitment to helping others and making a difference in people's lives was evident throughout his career.
Beyond his professional and military achievements, Robert was known for his sense of humor, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends.
Robert was an avid sports fan and loved the Dallas Mavericks. He was thrilled when the Texas Rangers won the World Series in 2023, finally bringing a championship to Dallas. Despite his loyalty, he had given up on the Dallas Cowboys.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, William Parker, his mother, Irma Jo, and his brother, Jerry. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years Patty, his daughter Renee (Matt) and granddaughters Maddie and Rylee. Brother Jim Parker (DeDe) and Tom Parker. Sister in laws Peggy Lange (Eddie), Bernadette Walmsley, Annie Johnson, Kathy Brewer (David), Veronica Poucher (Don) and brother in law Chris Johnson (Nancy) and many nieces, and nephews.
A visitation for Robert will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service to celebrate Robert’s life will be held on Wednesday, February 28th, at 10 a.m. at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of Tyler, Pets FUR People.
