Robert Kersh "Pops" of Whitehouse, Texas, passed away on Saturday the 30th of September 2023, at the age of 75. He was born on June 30 1948 to Eva Mae Kersh and Alvin Gerald Kersh Tyler Texas. He attended Tyler Junior College and served as an Apache Guard.
He worked for Goodyear and served there as Union Steward. He retired from Goodyear in 2003 after 30 years, he then worked for his son's company, Choice Mechanical. Doing government projects. He later drove the handicap school bus for the Whitehouse School District. He retired in 2021.
Robert is survived by his wife Deborah Kersh of 53 years and three children, Robin Kersh Humphrey, and husband John Humphrey, Robert Kersh Jr., and Kelly Kersh Fortune, six grandchildren, Christopher Vandagriff Jr., Jonathan Vandagriff, Spencer Vandagriff and wife, Elena Vandagriff, Ryan Vandagriff, Christopher Fortune Jr. and Madeline Fortune.
He was raised in the Church of God in Tyler since a little boy. He was a good Christian man and loved his family deeply. He had a gentle heart towards everyone. He taught by example. He worked hard and took time for his children. Teaching them kindness toward everyone, fishing, boating, tubing and hard work.
