Deborah Kersh Speaks of Robert Kersh. 

When I was 17, I asked the Lord to send someone who would love me. I never realized what he was sending me. Not only someone who would love me but also would raise me. 

Robert always said, “I took her to raise.” And he did. He taught me business matters. How to write a check. How the world works. He was my very best friend! 

He always had my back. He spoiled me. He laughed at my first bill of groceries. Campbell’s chicken soup, cheddar cheese and jars of Pimento’s, bread and eggs. 

He then realized I couldn’t cook. He taught me some of his boy scout dishes. He was patient and because of him I became an amazing cook, he thought. 

He was a better person than me. As I got older I realized what I had. He was always for me. Teaching me how to get my car inspected. In fact I was 18 before I got my drivers License. And it was he, who took me. He then bought my first car. 

Yes he raised me and our three beautiful children. The kindest and most prominent man I’ve ever met. He suffered much pain these past 6 years. He is now free from pain. It was as though he fell into a peaceful sleep, and no more pain. I know my Heavenly Father intervened for Robert.

He retired from Goodyear after 35 years. Deborah Webb Kersh. Correction. It was my mistake.

He was a good man. Always laughing and smiling when we sat around and talked. Loved his family. We will all miss him for a while and then reunite in a far greater place. God bless the family during these difficult times.

With a heavy heart God called a good man home. Pops as known by myself and my family was a gentle soul.  His love for helping others was strongly displayed through our the time I known him and his family.  Momma Mae loved bragging about her Robbie and his love for his special friends he drove for in Whitehouse.  He had a laugh that could lighten up a room. He loved his wife and often bragged how lucky he was to have such an amazing woman by his side. He loved his kids very much and always made me feel like I was one of his. I will truly mis this man and I will always hold him close to my heart. Good bye pops. I promise to continue to give Robbie a hard time out of love and remind him we're he got the tools from and to put them back we're he got them from. Mom I'll always be here to mark of his list. Love the Parks family.

Pops was a good man and will be missed by those of us who were blessed to know him. He gave me the name Radio Rickey at the bus barn and we would laugh about that every time he brought it up. The stories Pops had were a sight to behold. LOL I know he is in Heaven telling joke number 5 right now. :)

We are so sorry to hear about your father.  You and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. We will miss seeing him on his golf cart at the Christmas parade!
