Paul graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1958. He received a certification in Radio and TV repair in Chicago, Illinois before opening a repair shop in Pittsburg, Texas – Dennis TV. After returning to East Texas and starting his business, he met the love of his life and lifelong partner, Kaye. He later went to work driving a delivery truck for Coca-Cola and Southland Distribution Center in Owentown, Texas. While driving for Southland he participated and placed in numerous “Truck Rodeos”. He drove semi’s for several local trucking companies after Southland closed prior to retiring in 1998.
Paul was a member of First Baptist Church in Liberty City, Texas at the time of his death. He was ordained as a deacon in May 1972 in Malakoff, Texas. He served faithfully as a deacon, as well as singing in the choir, in a couple of different congregations as seasons of life moved them around. He enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, and drag racing. His indoor hobbies were bowling and a good old-fashioned game of 42-dominoes.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, brothers – James Dennis and G.L. “Doc” Dennis, sister Jauniece Huggins, and great-granddaughter Amelia Grace Dennis.
He is survived by wife Kaye Dennis of Gladewater, Son & Daughter-in-love Jeff & Melissa Dennis of Gladewater, Grandson’s Kyle & Lacy Dennis of Longview, and Clay & Terri Shea Dennis of Gladewater. Great granddaughter’s Adley & Lilah Dennis, Zylie Coldiron. Also, many nieces and nephews.
