Services for Patricia Ann Benton, 86, of Tyler will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Green Acres Baptist Church Chapel with Reverend Kevin Burdette officiating. Private burial will follow at Quitman City Cemetery.
Ms. Benton passed away Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Hospice of East Texas Homeplace. Pat was born January 19, 1932 in Quitman, Texas to Hall and Opal Benton. She is preceded in death by her parents; step mother, Lila Benton; sister, Virginia Childress and brother, Hall Benton Jr.
Pat spent her early years in East Texas eventually moving to Houston where she worked for Pennzoil for many years then decided to pursue a career in real estate with Carriage Realty. After spending 12 years in Houston, Pat chose to move back to Tyler to continue her career in real estate with Keller Williams along with working for The Tyler Independent School District where she retired. She was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church, the Joy Class and active in the Women's Auxiliary of the Salvation Army. She will be remembered by family and friends as someone who lived life to the fullest. A true beauty inside and out with a magnetic personality.
Survivors include daughter, Cheryl Ball of Carrollton; son, Jerry Dean and partner Dwayne Haugh of Austin; son, Chat Wynne and wife Michelle of Lakeway; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers include grandsons, Brian Ball, Blake Ball, Ron Patterson, Tyler Bengard, Connor Wynne and Aidan Wynne.
Honorary Pallbearers include great grandsons, Ryan Patterson, Braden Ball, Carter Patterson, Will Patterson, Caleb Bengard, Joshua Bengard and Abram Bengard.
Visitation is scheduled from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 24, 2018 at Lloyd James Funeral Home, located at 1011 E 1st St. in Tyler.
