Mitchell Allen Thurman, 61, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Friday, July 14, 2023 with his loving family and friends by his side. He was born July 16, 1961, to Fred Thurman and Joanne Darlene Chapman in Phoenix, Az. He grew up in Phoenix running wild with his four brothers, Fred, Jim, Dennis and Bob. He graduated from Camelback High School in 1980. He married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Jeanne Marie Greenwade on September 4th, 1981. Mitch and Jeanne had 3 children, Candice, Mitchell and Brandon. Mitch received Jesus Christ as his Savior at the age of 18 and never looked back. He lived to see people changed by the love of Christ. He became a Pastor in 1984. He Pastored and ministered all around the world. His fruitful ministry spanned 40 years.
Mitch loved his God, his family and his friends with all he had and he always made sure to tell them. He will be remembered for his funloving personality, his silly Dad jokes and his powerful preaching.
Mitch was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Joanne Thurman.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne Thurman; Daughter, Candice and her husband, Javier; their two sons, Caspian and Theoden;, his two sons, Mitchell and Brandon and Brandon’s wife, Joselle and their daughter, Brynn. His brothers Fred, James, Dennis and Robert Thurman and their families.
Celebration of Life Service at Cornerstone Church, 9107 Paluxy Drive, Tyler, Texas 75703 Friday, July 21, 2023 Viewing at 9:00am and Service at 10:00 am. Graveside Service will be at 1 pm at the Cathedral of the Pines Cemetery, 7825 S. Broadway Ave., Tyler, Texas 75703.
