Karen Ruth Keller Brown

Karen, an elementary school teacher for Spring Branch Independent School District, was born on September 16, 1955 in Tyler. She grew up and attended school in Houston, graduating from Westbury High School in 1974. Following high school she attended Texas State University in San Marcos, receiving her Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education. Following college she met and married Jerry Wayne Brown. She continued teaching until she became ill.

She loved to read her bible. She loved to draw and was a good artist and also received an American Legion Award in her youth.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles L. Keller and is survived by her son, Jordan Brown and his wife, Emily of Houston; mother, Joyce Keller of Tyler; sister, Nancy Keller Bean and her husband, James of Spring; brother, David Keller and his wife, Kim of Whitehouse and grandchildren, Jadyn and Colin of Houston.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home, 12053 State Highway 64 West, Tyler. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 1, 2015 also at the funeral home, with Pastor Ron Shultz officiating.

Interment will follow at the Whitehouse Cemetery.
