She passed away on May 2, 2017 in Tyler.
Joyce was born on November 21, 1930 in Plain Dealing, Bossier Parish, Louisiana to the late and Dwight Ennis Talley, Sr. and Mattie Oleta Windsor
She married James Elmer Baham on January 15, 1950 in Arcadia, Louisiana and spent 61 wonderful years together. He passed away July 2, 2011 in Tyler. She received a Distinguished Citizenship Award in 1963 for Outstanding Service to Victory Over Polio Campaign, from the Ouachita Parish Medical Society & Jaycees. She was an RN for 40 years including Supervisor of EKG Department for Glenwood Hospital, head nurse of Children’s Clinic & Superintendent of nursing home in the Monroe, Louisiana area. She loved & was dedicated to her family. She enjoyed genealogy, fishing, camping, square dancing, oil painting, crafting, gardening & sewing.
She is survived by daughters; Sandra and her husband Charles Gouthiere III of Shreveport, Louisiana; Karen and her husband Johnny Lowery of Tyler, Vicki Barton of Tyler, and Lori Baham of Denison; granddaughters Tiffany and her husband William Eubanks of Monroe, Louisana, Jennifer Barton of New York City, New York, Jamie and her husband Mike Oliver of Tyler, and Joylyn Duffy of Orlando, Florida; step grandchildren Justin and Logan Gouthiere and Dontay and Kourtney Shyne of Shreveport, Louisiana; great-granddaughters Kaleigh and Madelyn Guevara of Tyler; step great-grandchildren Kiera Oliver of Longview, Sheila Eubanks of Monroe, Louisiana, and Kingsley Shyne of Shreveport, Louisiana; half-sister Trudy Jackson of Llano, Louisiana and sister-in-law Dorothy Talley of Slaughter, Louisiana. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband James Baham of Flint and brother Dwight Ennis Talley, Jr. of Slaughter, Louisiana.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Kindle, Matt Kindle, Chris Otero, Dennis Copfer, Gene Tannery and Gary Murray.
Grannie was loved & admired for her strength, courage & generosity by all of her family and friends. Her legacy lives on through her family.
