Joseph graduated from Chapel Hill High School and Tyler Jr. College. He then headed to UT Austin for several semesters before graduating from UT Tyler.
Joseph was a kind soul, who had a witty sense of humor and loved music from the 80’s. He was very intelligent, especially with technology and current events, and enjoyed playing chess and reading books. He loved to watch the UT Longhorns play football and enthusiastically cheered on his favorite soccer team, Manchester City, whenever they played.
If you were lucky enough to be a part of his circle of friends, you knew you had a loyal friend for the rest of your life. Even though Joseph wasn’t the outgoing type, he loved and cared very deeply and wholeheartedly. He also had a special place in his heart for animals, especially cats and several special dogs. Joseph will be greatly missed by all who were close to him.
Joseph is survived by his parents, Sheryl Hunt and Jimmy (Sherry) Hunt; his sister, Shawn (Shawn Rodgers) Hickman; his cat, Squirrel; his aunts and cousins; and numerous close friends.
Joseph was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lee Wilkins, Anita Gerard, Joe Eddie Lee and Geraldine Hunt; his beloved cat, Bucket; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service for Joseph will be held Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Tyler Memorial Funeral Home. To honor him, the family is requesting those who would like to, please wear either Chapel Hill Bulldogs, UT Longhorns or any professional soccer team shirt to the service. It would put a smile on Joseph's face and also comfort the family.
