Jerry was born January 22, 1942 in Tyler to the late Oather Ray and Elna Virginia Warren McCoy. He passed away September 3rd in Tyler.
Jerry McCoy "Papaw" was raised in Whitehouse and graduated from Whitehouse ISD. He met and married Glenda Allison and worked 35 years as a used car dealer and thoroughly enjoyed antique and older model cars. After retirement he enjoyed spending time on his back porch, eating out with family and friends, telling stories to his grandchildren, finding a treasure at flea markets and traveling to the boats. One special moment was his Daytona International Speedway Driving experience, with a picture to prove it.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Glenda McCoy; daughter, Tonja Perkins and borther Ray McCoy.
He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Ogden(Dean); son, Randy McCoy(Sonya); grandchildren, Tiffany Wandall, Brittany Ogden, Clay McCoy, Emma McCoy, Dustin Malone and Tasha Perkins; honorary grandchildren, Zachary, Trace and Kelsey; great-granddaughter, Presley Wandall; brother, Dwayne McCoy and special friend and companion Wanda Germany as well as all her special family.
Honorary pallbearers are Tiffany, Brittany, Presley, Clay, Emma, Dustin, Tasha, Zachary, Trace and Kelsey.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Papaw's honor the the SPCA of East Texas.
