James passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014 in Tyler.
He was born on September 28, 1932, in Saint Joseph, Missouri to Clarence J. and Faye Ball Sollars.
He was past member of the East Texas Rose Growers Association. James was a member of the Rotary Club and Toastmaster in Tyler, and was involved in the Boy Scouts of America. He received the Silver Beaver Award, was a Shriner and Mason and attended the Sharon Temple Shrine. James was an active member of the First Christian Church in Tyler, where he was an elder, Sunday school teacher, youth group leader and assisted with the Meals on Wheels.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Ann P. Sollars; his parents; and daughter, Valerie Tribon.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Sherry Sollars, of McKinney; daughter, Devonee Sollars, of Tyler; and three grandchildren; Jacob Tribon, Maddi Tribon and Nate Tribon, all of Carrollton.
