James Muril Luce, 86, of Tyler, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2016 in Tyler. James, a retired diesel mechanic, was born on October 4, 1929 in Lindale. He grew up and attended school in Lindale. Following school he worked to help support the family. Later in life, he was a diesel mechanic and loved to fix all kinds of things. He also enjoyed fishing and camping.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy in 1993, as well as his parents, a brother and two sisters. He is survived by his daughters, Darlene, and her husband Otis Pitts, of Troup; Jan Hardisty, of Lewisville; Candy, and her husband Lindsey Mason, of Tyler; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and the love of his life, Billie J. Bing, of Tyler and her family, including 3 children, 10 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2PM, Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home, 12053 State Highway 64 West, Tyler with visitation one hour prior to the service. Jake Scott will be conducting and interment will follow in Tyler Memorial Cemetery.
