Jackson Owen Dabney made his entrance into this world on August 19, 2014. He weighed only one pound, one ounce, and measured eleven inches long, but he immediately proved that his personality was much bigger than his little body. Our little Jackson was a fighter, and survived much longer than most doctors predicted. His medical team even nicknamed him “Action Jackson” and “Spunky.”
Ultimately, though, Jackson's little body just couldn't fight off all of the medical complications that he faced, no matter how hard he tried. In the early morning hours on Sunday, August 31, 2014, Jackson passed away. He was 12 days old. He took his last breaths while in the loving arms of his mom and dad, and is now resting well in the loving arms of Jesus. Jackson's time on this earth was short, but his impact was mighty and will stay with us forever.
Jackson is survived by his loving parents, Kyna Jene' Adams and Wesley Owen Dabney, of Tyler; maternal grandparents, Carla and David Cheairs, of Arlington, and Dale and Benita Falk, of Atlanta; paternal grandparents, Dave and Shannon Dabney, of Tyler; great grandmother, Dorothy Whitney, of Oklahoma City; aunts and uncles, Dara and Trouper Gamble, Elizabeth and Stephen Dechert, and Shannon Carr. He is also survived by his two canine sisters, Penny and Tova.
Jackson was preceded in death by his uncle, Owen “Bumper” Carr.
Funeral services for our precious baby Jackson are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Lloyd James Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Bell officiating. A private burial with family will follow in Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery.
