Lee was born on May 19, 1943 in Denison, TX to the late Arthur Leland and Birtie Jackson, and spent most of his formative years in Tyler, TX as the eldest of four children.
Lee graduated from Robert E. Lee High school in Tyler, attended Texas A&M University (as a member of the Corps), and North Texas State University (NTSU), during which time he’d excelled in gymnastics and was dubbed ‘the Trampoline King’. After receiving his bachelor’s degree from NTSU, he joined the Air Force where he served and reached the rank of Captain.
Along that path, he met the love of his life, Kathryn “Sue” Krohn and they married in 1967. They lived in various places during his seven-year enlistment period, having two children along the way, Kelly Lynn and Christopher Lee, eventually settling in back Tyler in 1973. Lee was fortunate to have been able to move to Spring, TX two years ago to be closer to his children and grandchildren.
Lee worked many career paths over the years, such as General Electric and as an instructor at Tyler Junior College, but he was most widely known and regarded in the Tyler Real Estate community. He was an agent at various firms over the course of his 25+ year career.
Lee is survived by his daughter, Kelly Dwyer of Spring, TX; son, Chris Jackson and wife Amy Jackson, of Spring, TX; six grandchildren: Matthew Dwyer, Zachary Dwyer, Hannah Dwyer, Cameron Jackson, Chelsea Jackson, and Lucy Jackson; and his brother, Roger Jackson, of Paramount, CA. He will be especially missed by his faithful canine companion, Aries.
Lee was proceeded in death by his wife of 38 years, Sue Jackson; parents, Art and Birtie Jackson; brother, Ron Jackson; and sister, Jeannie Bennett.
