Mr. McFarland was born on November 3, 1920 in Damon Mound, to Luby Franklin and Emmie O Morgan McFarland and passed away on October 16, 2017 in Tyler.
Mr. McFarland served in the U. S. Navy during WWII was a deacon at Westwood Baptist Church. After retiring he helped build churches for the Southern Baptist Convention, formerly of Baytown and Livingston he had lived in Tyler since 1970.
Survivors include his grandchildren: Amanda Hale of Tyler, Shawn Bell of Moore Station, Jessica Kenrick of Arp, Grace Bell of Tyler, six great-grandchildren, his brother, Carl McFarland of Pearland, his sister, Gerry Chellette of Odessa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dorothy and his daughter, Laurie Bell.
Visitation will be 6-8pm Thursday.
