Services for Hamlin “Ham” Fox, 98, of Tyler TX are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with Bishop Joseph E. Strickland officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday, February 15 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Lloyd James Funeral Home. Rosary 6:00 p.m.
Hamlin passed away of natural causes on Saturday, February 13, 2016 in Tyler surrounded by his entire family.
Hamlin was born on October 29, 1917 in Powell, Missouri to the late Oscar and Laura Jane Frazier Fox. He was graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Geology. He worked as an Independent Geologist for over 60 years in the oil and gas industry, working most recently for Max and Barbara Thomas.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Elizabeth L. Fox, Tyler; daughters Pamela Jane Moore of Katy; Kathy Ann Grisham and husband, Tom of Brandon, Florida; Jimmie Lou Kidd and husband, Don of Hurst; sons Danny Hamlin Fox and wife, Nancy of The Woodlands; Randy Steven Fox of Tyler; and Gregory Joseph Fox of Conroe.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Fox Mosley, Jeffery Randall Kidd, Todd Griffin, Matthew Thomas Grisham, Gregory Hamlin Fox, Michael Steven Fox and Chris Hamlin Negem. Honorary pallbearers will be Norman George, Gilbert George, Fred Negem, Rick Eltife, Kevin Eltife, Ernie Negem, and Jimmy Negem.
The family wishes to thank Fr. Gus Tharappel and the ladies who visited him for years.
