Eston graduated from Whitehouse High School with the class of 1948. He also attended the Junior College in Arlington, Texas. Eston retired after 30 dedicated years from Bonor Packing Company, as a Maintenance Supervisor. He was a faithful member and Deacon at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Whitehouse, Texas, and taught Sunday school for 70 years total. Eston was also a 32 Degree Mason member of the Bullard Masonic Lodge #785, and received the 60 year award in May of 2022. He enjoyed nature and being outdoors. Eston was an avid hunter and fisherman, who could always be found traveling and camping. He loved spending precious time with his family, especially gathering around a fish fry. Eston will be deeply missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Eston is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Mary Stainback; daughters, Lynne Stainback Thompson, and husband, Larry of Leonard, Texas, and Ronda Bisnette and husband, Gary of Troup, Texas; son, Curtis Caldwell and wife, Lori of Troup, Texas; sisters, Mary Buckalew of Bullard, Texas, and Wanda Doss, and husband Herb of Jacksonville, Texas; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Eston is preceded in death by his mother, Florence Hullum, and husband Raymond; father, Leo Stainback; son, Todd Stainback; twin-brother, Preston Stainback; and brother, James Stainback.
A time of visitation for Eston will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2022 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 10519 FM 344, Whitehouse, Texas 75791. A celebration of life will begin at 1:30 p.m., following the graveside service at 3:00 PM at the Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Charles Hill.
