Essie Dee Huse

Essie Dee was born in Hubbard, TX on June 6, 1937 to Essie Garvin Gladney Havis & Willie Delois Havis. Essie Dee was raised in Hill County TX in the Bynum & Hubbard Communities and graduated from Bynum High School in 1956. She married her high school sweetheart, Dwaine Edward Huse, in 1957 and the couple had 4 sons. She was a dedicated and loving homemaker, and in her spare time she enjoyed gardening, bird watching, arts and crafts, visiting and seeing her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and siblings. Being involved with her church, Selman City Christian Church in Selman City, Texas, brought her so much joy and happiness.

Essie Dee's family and friends will always remember her as an avid pet lover. From her early childhood years through her last dog Gunner, including many dogs, cats, and chickens. Once, even a pig was raised in the house until "Tiny" grew too big to live inside.

Preceding Essie Dee in death are her parents, her husband of 30 years, Dwaine, brothers Dalton, Hilton, Jack, Kenneth, and Danny, and her sister Leatrice. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Jackson Edward Huse.

Essie Dee is survived by her 4 sons: Donald and wife Vanessa, Dwight and wife Jenny, Dwaine and wife Tracey, and Douglas and wife Elizabeth; sister Mary Schronk; sisters-in-law Ruth Havis, and Lucy Havis; and brother-in-law Melvin Huse. She is also survived by: grandchildren Tamera, Brent, Kevin, Kyle, Dillon, Mason, Bailey; 9 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Pallbearers include: grandsons Brent, Kevin, Kyle, Dillon, Mason, and Ronnie; and great-grandson Brayden.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be sent to Selman City Christian Church, 10529 County Road 4125, Selman City, Texas 75689.

A visitation for Essie Dee will be held Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Lloyd James Funeral Home, 1011 East First Street, Tyler, TX 75701. A graveside service will occur Sunday, April 13, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Williams Cemetery, 16342 State Hwy 64, Tyler, TX 75707.
