Elizabeth Ann Boykin, 85, died after a long illness on March 6, 2022. She passed peacefully with both her daughters at her side. She was born August 28, 1936, in Lindale, Texas, the daughter of Frank Bowdoin and Ella (Downing) Bowdoin.
Elizabeth graduated from Lindale High School, class of 1953. She was crowned Blackberry Queen of Lindale her senior year. Lindale has been declared
After high school she married her high school sweetheart, Eugene (Gene) Boykin and settled in Tyler. They were happily married for 65 years upon the death of her husband Gene.
Shortly after getting married she began working at Citizens First National Bank of Tyler. She was soon promoted to be the manager of the Statement Department. Over the years she was rewarded for her hard work. Later the bank changed its name to First City National Bank. She worked there for over 30 years. After working at the bank, she got a job with The Better Business bureau of Tyler and worked there until she retired in 2001. Elizabeth was a loving mother who instilled good values and the love of God.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Gene and her grandson, Jack Campbell. Surviving in addition are her two daughters, Angela (Boykin) Campbell, husband Chuck Campbell of Dallas, Linda (Boykin) Zimmerman, husband Kurt Zimmerman of Rockwall; five grandchildren, Amanda Campbell, Tori Alexander, Taylor Alexander, Nick Zimmerman, Michael Zimmerman and two Great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Lloyd James Funeral Home, 1011E 1st Street, Tyler, Texas 75701, on March 11,2022 at 10:00am.
Interment to follow at The Cathedral in the Pines Memoria Garden Cemetery, at 11:00am. 7825 Broadway Ave. Tyler, Tx. 75703.
Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 on Thursday March 10,2022 at Lloyd James Funeral Home.
