Eleanor June Tabb, 81, passed into Glory on August 10, 2023 surrounded by her family. June was born October 29, 1940, to Alvia and Ruth Bailey in Canton, Ohio but grew up in Pleasants County, West Virginia and graduated St Mary’s High School in 1959. Though blessed to live her adult life as a “Transplanted Texan”, she was always proud of her West Virginian heritage and was a recipient of the Golden Horseshoe.
A lifelong Methodist, she married the love of her life, Loyd, at the First Methodist Church in Anson, Texas on July 30, 1960. Three sons Mike, Jeff and Danny were born to this union and in 1968 the Tabb Family made their home in Tyler, Texas. June and Loyd have been Members of Marvin United Methodist Church since 1970 and were active members of the Bill Barger Builders Class.
Dedicating her life to her family, June was a” Stay at Home Mom” who selflessly served as chauffer for swim lessons at the YMCA, was active as a Cub Scout Den Mother, loyal fan to countless little league baseball games, flag football, swim meets, school plays and all around good sport on many camping and fishing trips. In time she worked for over 20 years as a bookkeeper for the Dairy Queen Corporation of Smith County and was a volunteer during the early days of Habitat for Humanity in Tyler. She also spent many days at the St Paul Methodist Church Food and Clothing Center
June and Loyd were able to vacation in various countries including Ireland, Germany, Japan, Switzerland and Greece, as well as enjoying a cruise down the Rhine River. Their travels also took them to Alaska, the Canadian Rockies, San Francisco, Washington DC, New England, and Numerous State Parks in Texas.
Preceding her in death was her brother Joe Bailey. In addition to her husband Loyd, and her three sons, June is survived by her loving daughter-in-law Cheryl Tabb and her pride and joy- grandsons, Travis, Jonathan, David, and Tristin. June enjoyed reading, a good laugh and being in the company of family and friends. She was a model of integrity and sacrifice and her family never doubted her love for them. June Tabb will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. Colossians 1:3-6
