Dorothy Mae Willhite, 73, passed away on January 16, 2013 peacefully at home with her husband of 52 years, Walter Willhite, by her side. Graveside services will be Sunday 2:00 pm at Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Gary Olgesby officiating.
Dorothy was born December 2, 1939 in Palestine Texas to Charlie and Doris Lambright.
Dorothy attended Palestine High School where she met the love of her life. They married, started a family, and moved to Tyler. They raised two daughters, Debbie and Carla. She had the pleasure of four grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Justin and Colton, 6 great grandchildren, Ashlyn, Alexis, Garrett, Addisyn, Branton and Calliegh. She loved her family and cherished every moment with them.
Those close to Dorothy knew that she a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor. She was an amazing friend and defender of the weak. She was a great listener, generous with all her resources. She will be missed by her family and those who knew her.
Her family wishes to extend a heartfelt appreciation to those who have cared for her; Trinity Mother Frances Cardiac Floor, and Hospice of East Texas.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Lambright and Doris Webb, sister Juanita Miller.
She is survived by her loving family and husband Walter Willhite of Chapel Hill, daughters Debbie Cherry and husband James of Chapel Hill, Carla Culpepper and husband David, of White Oak TX , grandchildren Jennifer Landfair Chapel Hill, Jessica Byrd and husband James Chapel Hill, Justin Wood, Colton Wood of White Oak and her precious great grandchildren Ashlyn Howard , Alexis Landfair, Garrett and Addisyn Byrd, Branton and Calleigh Wood, brother Clinton Lambright, Chapel Hill, sister Kathleen Cook , Yuba City Ca, sister-in-law Maudie Ridenour Ft Worth TX.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday January 19, 2013 at Memorial Funeral Home.
