She grew up and attended Tyler High, graduating in 1959. She married James Blanton, right out of high school. She also worked for J.M. Dyer and volunteered at UT Health Center and provided respite care.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Chad.
She is survived by her husband, James of Tyler; sons, Randy and his wife, Sarah Blanton of Hurst; Scott and his wife, Cindy Blanton of Tyler; Terry Blanton of Flint; Jason and his wife, Gabriela Blanton of Richland Hills; daughter, Kerri Chapman of Abilene; brother, Donald and his wife, Sue Renfro of Quitman; sister, Danna and her husband, Pete Scarbrough of Gilmer; sister-in-law, Marjorie Kidd of Arlington; 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Friday, November 21, 2014 at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home, 12053 State Highway 64 West, Tyler. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday; also at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Tyler Memorial Cemetery.
