Services for David James Speas, 51, of Tyler, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with Bishop Joseph Strickland officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
He passed away on April 16, 2018, in Tyler.
David was born on May 3, 1966 in Tyler, at Mother Frances Hospital to William John Speas, Jr. and Mary Smith Speas.
He attended T.K. Gorman and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School.
David was a wonderful son, an amazing brother, caregiver, friend and true Dallas Cowboy fan.
He is survived by his sisters Paula Butler and husband Holley, Christine Hicks and husband Wayne, Reba Hill and husband Randy and Renee' Speas, all of Tyler; his brother Ralph Speas of Tyler; his nephews and nieces Jeremy Wilson, Jay Butler, Myranda Sanders, William Hill, Joshua Hill, Molly Ramirez, Alysia Wilson and Preston Hill; along with great-nieces and great-nephews.
David was preceded in death by his parents William John Speas, Jr. and Mary Smith Speas; and his brother William John Speas, III.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Wilson, Jay Butler, William Hill, Joshua Hill, Preston Hill, David Sanders and Esteban Ramirez.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Lloyd James Funeral Home.
David fought a brave battle against cancer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HOPE Cancer Center of East Texas, 721-A Clinic Drive, Tyler, TX 75701.
