Services for David Louis Jones, 66, of Chandler, will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at Lloyd James Funeral Home with Bro. Brian Fisher and David’s pastor, Shane Ogdie officiating.
Mr. Jones passed away August 22, 2014 in Tyler after a courageous battle with ALS. He was born June 28, 1948 in Kilgore, Texas to Jessie and Lucille Jones. David loved his Lord and was a faithful member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church, where he served as Music Director, Sunday School Teacher, and Captain/Driver for the Bus Ministry. In 1984, he fulfilled his greatest dream of starting his own company, EAST TEXAS GUTTER SYSTEMS. He was also very proud of becoming an Eagle Scout. He enjoyed taking vacations and spending time with his large family. He was known by all for his great sense of humor and being the life of the party, but most importantly for his generous, giving heart.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Lucille Jones; his siblings, Curtis Jones, Jessie Jones Jr, Donald Jones, Jerry Jones, Wanda Jones, and Betty Paetz.
He is survived by his loving family including his wife of 46 years, Deborah Jones of Chandler; their children, Mike Jones and wife Katrina of Henderson, Cammie Sneed and husband Mark of Newcastle, Oklahoma, Susan Glenn and husband Ron of Leadville, Colorado, and Dustin Stanley of Hughes Springs; his siblings, Doris Moore, Charles Jones, Robert Jones, Linda Henry, Pam McCall, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also the proud Papaw of eleven grandchildren: Jori, Kelsey, Andrew, Caleb, Michael, Hunter, Dawson, Zachery, Claire, Lukas and Ethan.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, August 25th at Lloyd James Funeral Home, 1011 East 1st Street in Tyler, Texas.
