Daniel Preston Wright, 59, of Plano, Texas, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2012, at Madison on Marsh Lane in Carrollton. He was born on Feb. 1, 1953, in Longview to William Preston Wright and Joy Vernadean (Byassee) Wright who preceded him in death.
Surviving are a sister, Charlotte (Wright) Cross of Kersey, Colorado, and a brother, William David Wright, of Tyler. Also surviving are aunts, Lillie Belle Etter, Bonnie Crawford and Mary Adams of Tyler in addition to cousins, nieces and nephews.
Daniel attended schools in Longview and graduated from high school in Big Spring, Texas. He earned a degree in business administration from the University of Texas as well as a master's degree in computer science from the University of North Texas, Denton. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad, Texas Instruments, Nortel, and was currently employed as a computer specialist by Avaya.
Mobberly Avenue Baptist Church in Longview was his home church and in Big Spring, he was a member of First Baptist Church. His interests were music, reading, computers, traveling and he especially loved spending time with friends and family.
A celebration of Daniel's life is planned for Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of First Baptist Church, Tyler. Inurnment is in Rose Hill Cemetery.
