Charline (Auntie) Williams of Lake Palestine went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 4, 2022 at the age of 81. She was surrounded by her family at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler. Services will be held in the chapel of Lloyd James Funeral Home on December 8, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to service. Brother Raymond Graham of Lakewood Church will serve as officiant. Burial will be at Whitehouse Memorial Cemetery in Whitehouse Texas.
Charline was born to Robert Jones and Nellie Jane Arnold Jones on August 4th, 1941 in Whitehouse Texas. She married the love of her life, Mickey Williams, on June 26th, 1959 and shared more than 48 years as one.
Charline is survived by one brother, Rex Jones, two sisters, Hazel Nell Jernigan and Lois Hopkins, special nieces, Paula Stanley and Jill Williams, and her beloved nephews and their families, Clay Parker and Nathan Parker and a host of other nieces and nephews along with her church family at Lakewood Church. She is also survived by her lifelong friend, Bennie Lavoie, who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mickey Williams, brother, Robert Jones Jr. and sisters, Katie Jean Dickey and Roberta McCullough.
Charline had a true servants heart and was always visiting others, giving of her time to take family and friends for appointments or holding the hand of family or friend in their final hours. She and Uncle Mickey founded Lakewood Church and after his death, she continued on the work of loving on the members and spreading the love of Jesus to all.
Charline’s family were her pride and joy. She never missed a birthday, recital, ball game or anything her loved ones were involved in. She had a special ability to make everyone feel that they were her favorite. She has truly left a legacy of how we should live our life, loving on each other and always placing Jesus Christ front and center of our lives. Auntie was never at a loss for words when she thought we were ‘out of line’ and needed direction.
Charline cherished the times when the family would gather at the lake on July 4th or Christmas. All of the kids would come and even bring friends who Auntie accepted and treated as her own. She would always call the next day and thank us for sharing our day with her.
She never had biological children of her own but was blessed with a multitude of nieces and nephews that loved her dearly. To have never had kids, she had tons. Auntie always poured into our kids whether it be taking them to a movie at Christmas time, a trip to the candy store, fishing and swimming in the lake or simply getting down and playing on the floor. Whenever a new child was born into the family, they automatically had an attraction and love for her. To know her was to love her. And if you ever had any kind of relationship, you have all had the privilege to have ‘Auntie’ brownies. That is a recipe that will be handed down for generations.
Pallbearers for the service will be Lance Stanley, Adam Parker, Justin Parker, Jonathan Parker, Wyatt Parker and Jackson Parker.
Memorials in her memory made be made to Lakewood Church, 105 Sydney Drive, Bullard, Texas 75757, or Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd, Tyler, 75701.
