Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Carol Lee Stanley, age 70, of Tyler, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2012 at her home. She was born on March 2, 1942 in Jacksonville, Texas to R.E. “Daig” and Sybil Bynum Parmley. Carol worked for Southwestern Bell and AT&T for 37 years. She married her longtime companion, Glynne Roy Stanley, on October 16, 2002 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Carol was an officer in the Communication Workers of America Local 6214 for many years and a member of the AT&T Pioneer’s Club. She loved her gadgets, traveling, and her azaleas and gardenias. Carol also enjoyed crocheting, reading and watching TV but nothing made her happier than shopping and spending time with her grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her husband, Glynne Roy Stanley; children, Wendy Hale, and husband Mike, of Garland, Rusty Killian, and wife Staci, of Mesquite, Kristy Payne, and husband Glenn, of Keller, and Shannon Mackay of Killeen; mother, Sybil Parmley of Tyler; sister, Billie Sue Sowle, and husband Dwight, of Tyler; grandchildren, Justin Hale, Jennifer Hale, Nathan Payne, Natalie Payne, Logan Payne, Cason Killian, and Ashley Mackay; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, R.E. “Daig” Parmley, and one sister, Helen Parmley.
Services for Carol Stanley will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, April 9, 2012 at Lloyd-James Funeral Home with Pastor Dwight Sowle officiating. Burial will follow at Tyler Memorial Park with Justin Hale, Kerry Robert Stanley, Greg Hooten, Mark Ewig, David Rawson, and Denny Krammer serving as pallbearers. Members of the Communication Workers of America Local 6214 will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
