Billy Fletcher Dean passed away after a long battle with liver cancer on Thanksgiving morning, November 22, 2018. He was born on December 24, 1946 in Van Zandt County, Texas. Billy was preceded in death by his mother Edith Wheeler Singletary, step father Calvin Singletary, and sister Joann Norman.
Billy is survived by his brother Larry Dean of Frankston, several cousins and ex-wife Bonnie Holsomback, who cared for Billy throughout his illness.
Billy worked most of his working years as a heavy equipment operator and supervisor for the Texas Highway Department Smith County District. He was a Master Mason. In his later years, after he moved to Frankston, he became a member of the Frankston City Council. Billy loved working with cattle and horses and enjoyed antique cars. He was a friendly and godly man, loved his brother deeply and never met a stranger. His heart was filled with love and kindness and his greatest desire was to continue to live and stay with his loved ones and serve God.
Visitation is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. on Monday at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery at 12053 State Hwy 64W Tyler, Texas. The service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow.
