Billie Ruth Campbell Alston, age 95, of Tyler, Texas went on to be one of the Lords Angels on Monday, December 14, 2020 (she is probably up there cleaning up). Billie was born Saturday, November 14, 1925 in Burkett, Texas to John and Florence Campbell.
Billie married Herman Rackow in 1944 and together they had 4 beautiful children, Carolyn Gore, Eddie Rackow, Brenda Martin, and Gary Rackow. Billie married Cecil Alston on Saturday, August 3, 1968. She was a hard worker. Billie never allowed dust to gather under her feet. She loved sewing, square dancing, crafts and fishing. Billie also enjoyed playing cards with her girls. She never met a stranger, and was always willing to help anyone in need. Billie was a loving mother to her children, grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. To most, she was known as 'Granny,' and a wonderful Granny she was! She always made time to play with the children. Family was the source of her life, although she worked outside of the home and doing upholstery work. Billie was very crafty with a sewing machine. She loved cooking for her boys, too. Billie will be dearly missed and the memories made with her will be cherished.
Billie is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Gore and Brenda Martin; sons, Eddie Rackow and Gary Rackow; grandchildren, Dwayne Gore, Brian (Debra) Rackow, Kimberly (Cory) Hendricks, LaDonna (Joe) Ford, Richard Rains, Kristopher (Laura) Martin, Shelley Rackow, Crystal Rackow, Kit (Kristi) Rackow, Sarah and Aarend Macpherson; great grandchildren, Tori, Ashley, Audrey, Bruce, Montana, Matthew, Lance, Jacob, Jordan, Killian, Liam, Cannon, Brett, Cason, Cheyenne, Brantley, Kloe, Kate, Kice, and Lori Jane; great-great grandchildren, Jackson, Briar, and Sawyer.
Billie is preceded in death by her father, John Breckenridge Campbell; mother, Florence Pearl Moore; brothers, Carl Campbell, Chuck Campbell, John C. Campbell and Billy Joe Campbell; sisters, Mildred Rawls and Betty Sue Lacey; great-grandson, Richard Brent Rains, Jr.; sons-in-law, Bobby Gore and Larry Rains; daughter-in-law, Leigha Rackow; the children’s father, Herman F. Rackow; and her husband, Cecil Alston.
