Services for A. J. Thompson, 86, of Tyler are scheduled for 3:00 pm, Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Lloyd James Funeral Home Chapel With Pastor Mike Morrow officiating. Burial is in Cathedral in the Pines under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
Mr. Thompson passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2013 in Tyler.
He was born on February 25, 1926 in Canton to the late Arthur Erastus and Ruth Goss Thompson. He proudly served in the U. S. Navy during WW II. He was a member of the Cross Brand Cowboy Church and was formerly employed by the Texas State Health Department.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Pam Thompson.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marcelene M. Thompson of Tyler; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Robin Williamson of Tyler; granddaughter, Hollie Holquin of Tucson, AZ; three great grandsons; brothers, Marlin Thompson of Gallipolis, OH and Harvey Thompson of Houston. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday at Lloyd James Funeral Home.
