Arthur "Buster" Laverne Smith

Buster was a retired building maintenance manager in Tyler, Texas. He was a very hard worker and loved life to the fullest. Buster's hobbies were going to his farm and enjoying the outdoors. He was not the type of person to sit still for long periods of time, Buster was the type of man who always stayed busy with something. He loved telling stories and was a big jokester, and would do anything for anyone.

Buster is preceded in death by his loving wife, Etta Smith; son, Bobby Wayne; parents, Maurice and Lois Smith; 3 brothers and 1 sister.

Buster is survived by daughter, Karen (Billy Fred) Yarbrough of Chandler, Texas; and son, Billy (Lisa) Smith of Ft. Worth, Texas. He was blessed with 5 grandchildren, Kyle (Jocey) Yarbrough of Tyler, Texas, Daisy (Blake) Mitchell of Monahans, Texas, Casey (Meghan) Smith of Missouri City, Texas, Logan (Patrick) Phillip of Dallas, Texas and Austin (Kayley) Smith of Richland Hills, Texas; and 4 great-grandchildren, Wiley Mitchell, Wrenley Mitchell, Bexley Mitchell and Briley Turner.

A time of visitation for Buster will be held Thursday, August 3, 2023 from 9:00 to 10:00 am in the Chapel of Tyler Memorial Funeral Home, followed by the graveside service beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will take place at the Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery.
