Suzanne Mathieson, 72, a resident of Twin Falls, ID passed away peacefully at home on Monday December 12, 2016 surrounded by her family.
Suzanne is survived by her husband Robert J. Mathieson of Twin Falls, ID; son Robert J (Susan) Mathieson, Jr. of Highland, UT; daughter Heather Mathieson (Jon Beisel) of Twin Falls, ID; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren and was preceded in death by her parents Marshall and Mary Curtis.
Suzanne was born on March 8, 1944 in Portsmouth, VA the only child of Mary and Marshall Curtis. She was raised in upstate NY. She graduated from Marcellus High School and later attended Central City Business Institute. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert J. ”Bobby” Mathieson on October 10, 1964. They had two children, Robert J. Jr. and Heather Lynne.
Suzanne enjoyed playing the piano, singing, scrapbooking, going to plays/musicals; shopping and following politics. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and new great grandchildren. Although she was not able to do a lot of different activities, it never stopped her from having a smile on her face and encouraging her family.
Suzanne became a Registered Nurse after graduating with her nursing degree from the College of Southern Idaho in 1984. She spent the majority of her nursing career in Long Term Care. She ended her nursing career working for the State of Idaho as a Certified Family Homes Assessment Nurse, which she loved.
Her kindness, compassion and unconditional strength were her best qualities. Her faith in the lord never wavered, despite a lifetime of physical hardships. And we are now blessed that she is now blessed to be with the savior.
A celebration of Suzanne’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 16, 2016 at the 9th Ward LDS Church, 2680 Elizabeth Blvd. in Twin Falls with Bishop Michael Taylor conducting. Burial will take place at the Mountain View Cemetery in Fairfield at a later date. A viewing for family and friends will take place on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at the church.
