Katie was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was active in the First Presbyterian Church and ran the “scotch shop,” the church’s re-sale shop, for many years. She relished receiving used items, cleaning them up and re-selling to the public. Katie was renowned for her angel food cakes. She won first place at the county fair for many, many, many years.
Katie was also an avid pinochle player. She was playing in 2 different pinochle groups until her final days. Katie resided at Wynwood Living Center and she had her own group of players at the facility called “PINOCHLE WITH KATIE”.
Katie spent every birthday for the past 9 years at The Wagon Days Parade in Ketchum, Idaho. There was always a celebration with hot dogs and birthday cake. Dozens of passers-by would stop and sing Happy Birthday to her. She loved the attention and the kindness that everyone extended.
She leaves behind a son, Michael Barker (Bonnie) of Blackfoot Idaho and a daughter, Anneta Glavin (Barney) of Ketchum Idaho, 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. As well as one niece, Marilyn Young of Jerome, Idaho and her brother, Thomas Moeller of Ridgefield, Washington and several nieces, nephews and extended family and close friends.
Everyone who met her was amazed that she was 95 years old. She sparkled to the end and we will miss her greatly.
