DUNCANVILLE – William "Ed" Hubbard, age 87, of Duncanville, Ala., died April 18, 2018, at home. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with John Wiggins officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Hubbard; mother, Mae McNiece; sisters, Ella Crews, JoAnn Hoggle and Oneida Tucker; brother, Charles Hubbard; and daughter, Denise Kimbrel.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Hubbard of Duncanville, Ala.; daughter, Diane Bridges (Jeff) of Centreville, Ala.; son, Eddie Hubbard (Teresa) of Baker, Fla.; son-in-law, Brett Kimbrel; sisters, Emma Parker and Patsy Creel (James); brothers, Johnny Hubbard (Martha) and Nelson Hubbard (Jo); sister-in-law, Margaret Hubbard; grandchildren, Josh Bridges, Todd Bridges, Brett Billings, Blake Billings, Hollie, Heather and Hannah Hubbard; and six great-grandchildren.
Ed loved his family dearly and was a devoted Christian man always serving others. He served in the Korean War and spent 34 years driving for Miller Transport. He lived a life of love and integrity.
Pallbearers will be Josh Bridges, Brett Billings, Blake Billings, Ronnie Shuttlesworth, J.W. Tucker and Claude Crews.
Honorary pallbearers are members of Skyland Baptist Church, doctors and staff at V.A. Hospital and nurses and staff at Hospice of West Alabama.
