COALING – Wayne Kelburn Foster, Sr., age 80, of Coaling, Ala., died July 3, 2018, at his home. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Coaling United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Coaling Cemetery with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Warren Kelly Foster; mother, Norma Foster; two infant sons; one brother; and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Foster; son, Wayne Foster, Jr. (Melanie); sisters, Lucy Snider and Jean Hyche; brothers, Roy Foster and Charlie Foster; grandchildren, Jordan Green (Andye), Corey Brasher (Chad), Karley and Haiden Foster; and great-great-grandchildren, Jax, Tucker and Castin Brasher and Penelope Green.
Wayne Foster, Sr., born in Coaling, Ala., was the baby of eight children. He graduated from Brookwood High School in 1956 and was in the United States Army.
Wayne married Carolyn Stokes in 1956 and had three sons, Wayne Foster, Jr. who lives in Coaling, Warren Kelly and Lester Ray who are waiting in Heaven.
He was a lifetime member of Coaling Methodist Church where he led the choir for many years. He loved his family, church family and community.
Wayne was service manager at Miller Electric for years and owned Tuscaloosa Air Conditioning Company.
Pallbearers will be Brian Foster, David Foster, Brad Hyche, Chad Brasher, Andye Green, Caleb Pierce and Jarret Kruse.
Honorary pallbearers are the Coaling Fire Department, Dr. George Miller, Dr. Ann Lewis, Marc Duncan family, Coaling Methodist Church and Coaling Baptist Church and the BHS Class of 1956.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Coaling Methodist Church or at a charity of your choice.
