He is preceded in death by his son, William Hunter Canty; stepfather, Bobby Miller; grandparents, Ralph & Arvilee Sutton and Bill & Marie Canty.
He is survived by his daughters, Ashlyn Jackson (Corey); sons, Tripp Canty; sister, Michelle Latham; stepsisters, Tracy Fulks (Jeff), Rhonda Strickland (Ross), Jennifer Hosmer, Nicole Hosmer (Roy); stepbrother, Mike Miller; parents, Sue Miller and Mike Canty (Janet); grandchildren, Lily Canty, Hunter Jackson, Harper Jackson and many special nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a long list of family and friends too many to mention.
Terry was born August 3rd, 1960 in Tuscaloosa, he graduated from Tuscaloosa High School in 1979, the last graduating class of the T.H.S. Blackbears. Terry eventually started his own painting business- Terry Canty Painting Inc. and he was well known as always being a perfectionist when painting. Terry loved life to the fullest and loved to cook and was an avid grill master. He was the happiest camping at his family camp site with all his family and friends. Being with family and working were his hobbies in life.
Pallbearers are Carl Clary, Seth Wicker, Mike Miller, Jeff Fulks, Ross Strickland, and Jason Griffin. Honorary pallbearers are Hospice of West Alabama, Dr. Joshua Argo, Dr. Zoueter at UMC Northport, AL, Lewis & Faye Manderson Cancer Center and all former employees of Terry Canty Painting.
A visitation for Terry will be held Thursday, May 25, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, 2200 Skyland Blvd East, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35405. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 2:00 PM at Memory Hill Gardens, 2200 Skyland Blvd East, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35405.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama in memory of Terry or your favorite charity.
