Rufus Harry Hall, age 95, of Tuscaloosa, died October 26, 2023 at home. Services will be on Monday, October 30, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Memory Chapel with Dr. Herb Thomas presiding. Graveside Services will follow at Memory Hill Gardens. Visitation will be one hour before the chapel service.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Hall; parents, Melous and Lila Larrimore Hall; brothers, Ray, Howard, and Phillip; and a sister, Louise.
Survivors include his daughter, Myra Hall White (Johnny); son, James (Fiancé, Terri Utley) grandson, Joshua M. White (Terri) and great-grandchildren, Jacob, Avery and Chase White; brother, Wayne Hall; sister Aline.
Rufus was a loving husband and family man. He loved God, church, and family very much. Along with Catherine, he was an active member of Alberta Baptist Church for 49 years, moving to Circlewood Baptist Church in 2011.
Rufus was born and grew up in Branford, Florida, until he joined the U.S. Navy from January 20, 1948 – January 25, 1952 during the Korean Conflict. He then came to Tuscaloosa to work at the Gulf States Paper Co. for 25 years until the plant closed. He then began his own painting company with his son James and worked another 25 years before he retired.
He and Catherine loved to travel and were blessed with the good health to do so.
