“Rosie” (as she was lovingly known by all), was born January 19,1932 in Gaspe, Quebec, Canada. The 10th child of 13. At the age of 11 in 1943, her mother along with the younger children still at home, travelled two weeks by train across Canada to their new home in Vancouver, BC. Rosemarie worked as a switchboard operator for the BC Telephone Co. During that time, she met her husband Robin, who was in the US Air Force stationed at McChord AF Base in Tacoma, WA, on a blind date. They instantly fell in love and eloped 3 months later. For one year they resided in Tacoma and then returned to Tuscaloosa where they lived and raised their family. Rose was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, joining on September 9, 1963. Rose worked for many years at Adrian’s Ladies Apparel in McFarland Mall, where she was a top salesperson. She also worked for several years at Calvary’s Little Friends Daycare and especially loved keeping the bed babies. In her later years, she worked as a demo lady at Target, handing out samples of various products to shoppers. She never met a stranger and truly loved talking to everyone.
Pallbearers are grandsons Ryan, Alan and Tyler Chesnutt, Curt Robbins, Andrew Walker, and Kyran Smithson.
Honorary pallbearers are the staff of Moundville Health and Rehabilitation, Hospice of West Alabama and Myra Koster.
