Princess was born December 9, 1936, in Toledo, OH to Dr. and Mrs. O.E. Johnson. She married Wade S. Miller on August 19, 1956, in Toledo, OH.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-eight years Wade Miller, daughter, Cathy Sorrell (Eddie) of Tuscaloosa, AL; son, Curt Miller (Cathy) of Birmingham, AL; grandsons, Clint Sorrell (Elizabeth), Chase Sorrell and Christofer Miller; great-granddaughters Shalon and Roxanne Sorrell; brother Rev. Gordon Johnson (Ruthanne) and many loved nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Dr. and Mrs. O.E. Johnson, brother, Rev Duane Johnson and sisters, Phyllis Wren and Cheryl Carlson.
Princess graduated from DeVilbiss High School in Toledo, OH and earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL. Prior to retiring in 1995, she taught Business Education full-time in the Tuscaloosa City Schools and part-time at the University of Alabama and Shelton State Community College.
She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Tuscaloosa, AL and the Friendship Sunday School Class for over 50 years. Community involvement was a vital part of her life, she volunteered at the Soup Bowl, The Food Bank of Tuscaloosa, and prepared food bags for distribution at The First United Methodist Church.
Her family was of utmost importance in her life. She considered her two children her most rewarding accomplishment, they filled her life with much joy.
A visitation for Princess will be held Thursday, November 21st, at 12:00 PM at First United Methodist Church, 800 Greensboro Avenue, Tuscaloosa, AL. Following the visitation will be a funeral service at 1:00 PM and then she is to be laid to rest at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park following the services.
