Peggy Murphy-Bryant

Peggy Murphy-Bryant, age 82, of Brookwood, Alabama passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens.

Peggy is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Victor "Ted" Murphy. She is survived by her husband, Edward L. Bryant; daughters, Lisa Hoehn, Tara Erbeck and Dana Murphy; Son, Steve Murphy; grandchildren, Bradley Clearly, Tana Hogue and Tessa Hogue.

Mrs. Murphy-Bryant was born December 24, 1940 in Tuscaloosa, AL to Hosea and Mary Skelton. She grew up near downtown Tuscaloosa and as a child, enjoyed roller skating in Capitol Park and going to the Bama Theatre. She graduated from Tuscaloosa High School in 1958. Afterwards, she married Victor "Ted" in 1961. They were married for almost 50 years until he passed in 2011. She was a long time employee of the University of Alabama. She and Ted moved to Charleston, SC for many years. She returned to her hometown of Tuscaloosa in 2012. She remarried Ed Bryant in 2018. They enjoyed their families, companionship and travel in recent years.

Pallbearers will be Steve Murphy, Ed Erbeck, Bradley Cleary, Dennis Tidwell, Rocky Hoehn and Jeff Bryant.
