Born December 17, 1948, she was a graduate of Brookwood High School. She worked in Food Management as a Deli & Bakery Manager for Food Max. A faithful Christian woman, she was a member of Cottondale Nazarene Church where she enjoyed serving her Lord, and fellowship with her church family. A devoted wife, Peggy was also a sweet loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was always her pride and joy. She loved singing, reading, quilting, and her special pet, Holly. She loved deeply that love was returned by all that knew her. She will be greatly missed.
Ms. Duncan was preceded in death by her parents Nolan and Mildred Gilbert, and one brother Kenneth Gilbert.
Peggy is survived by her long time high school sweetheart and loving husband of 55 years, Clarence P. Duncan, Tammy Duncan Angeloff (Randy), one son Paul Duncan (Christy), eight grandchildren; Kyler Angeloff (Megan), Tanner Angeloff, Karlie Koon (John), Anna Kate and Matthew Duncan, Tanner Wallace (Haley), Gavin and Braxton Wallace; five great-grandchildren: Miles Angeloff, Emerson and Madilyn Koon, Ella Angeloff, J.T. Wallace; four sisters; Patricia Higdon (Roland), Odenville, AL, Joan Ethridge, Adger, AL; Sherry Owens, Vincent, AL; Theresa Bell, Woodstock, AL (Mike); one brother; Danny Gilbert (Jennifer) Brookwood, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memory Chapel of Tuscaloosa. A funeral service will be Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 11:00 AM, at the Funeral Home, with Pastor Mike Bell officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Cottondale, AL, under the direction of Memory Chapel, a Dignity Memorial provider.
Serving as Active Pallbearers will be: Kyler and tanner Angeloff, John Koon, Randy Perry, Jason Jamison and David Everette.
