Myrtle Jean Walker

Myrtle Jean Posey Walker, age 84, of Northport, died May 24, 2016, at Forest Manor Nursing Home. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2016, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with John Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.Myrtle Jean Posey Walker was born on February 11, 1932 and passed on to Heaven on May 24, 2016 at Forest Manor Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion David Walker; her parents, Herbert and Clara Posey; her brothers, Henry Posey and James Posey; and her sisters, Evelyn Busby and Margie Kaminski. She is survived by her children, Brenda Miles (Larry), Michael Walker (Julie), Dennis Walker (Karen), Terri Walker Evans and Stacy Perry (Joe); her grandchildren, Jason Miles (Susan), Leslie Stanford (David), Britni Smithson (Trip), Justin Evans, David Walker (Anne), Cody Walker (Crystal), Hannah West (Jacob), Matthew Wolfenbarger (Katie), Joseph Walker and Ashley Perry; her great-grandchildren, Audrey Smithson, Jaylen Stanford, Ellie Morgan Miles, Reagan Stanford, Lilly Catherine Miles, Jacob Smithson, Brody Smithson, Noah Walker, Erabella Wolfenbarger, Lillian Catherine Walker, Micah West and Benjamin Smithson; two sisters, Nellie Milam and Irene Duncan; and several nieces and nephews. Myrtle Jean was a devoted mother, grandmother and sister. She was an excellent cook and loved to cook for her family. She enjoyed her social activities, friends and her caretakers at Forest Manor Nursing Home. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jason Miles, Justin Evans, David Walker, Cody Walker, Matthew Wolfenbarger, Joseph Walker and Jacob West. Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Leonard Jones, Jenna Cooper, CRNP, Dr. Michael Johnson, Dr. Eric Sputh and her friends, special caretakers at Forest Manor Nursing Home and First Wesleyan Church.
