Myra Jane Dockery

Myra Jane Dockery passed away peacefully at Oakbrook Health and Rehab in Summerville, SC on June 10, 2022 under the care of Roper Hospice. Myra was born on 7/24/1929 in Berry, Alabama. She was the youngest of Bascom and Sallie Cannon’s 8 children. She is survived by her son Floyd (Monica) Dockery of Ladson, SC; her grandchildren Christopher (Elizabeth) Dockery, Stacie Dockery-Laureano, Shawn (Patricia) Dockery, Sarah (Eric) Varner, Colleen (Babak) Dockery-Alami, Kevin Dockery, and Samantha Dockery; 7 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. Myra was proceeded in death by two sons Samuel E. Dockery and Clyde Dockery and her grandson Brian Dockery. Myra spent most of her adult life in Cleveland, Ohio where she worked for General Motors and attended Willoughby Baptist Church. Myra was very proud of her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Myra’s hobbies included reading, walking, and tomato gardening. Myra had become a big fan of bingo in the last few years. A graveside service will be held on Monday June 27th at 10:00AM at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery 13481 Shiver DeFreeze Rd. Berry, Alabama 35546.
