As we celebrate the life of Opal Ryan Payne, we remember her as a sister in Christ, a devoted wife, a loving mother/mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. When people met her, they would usually remember her by some of her special gifts. First, her of the gift of gab. She never met a stranger. She loved to talk, laugh and spend time with family and friends. Another gift was her fancy fashion attire. She liked to dress her best from head to toe, makeup, jewelry and high heels were a must. Her next gift was in the kitchen. She was a wonderful cook. Somehow she could cook anything and it turned out delicious. Some of her award winning dishes include fried apple pies, peanut brittle, coconut cake, carrot cake, chicken and dressing and the list could go on and on. Last but not least was her gift of love for others. This is the gift that everyone will keep in their hearts from her. She will be missed but we are so thankful that her body is healed and she is reunited with the love of her life, special family members and friends that have gone on before her.
