Mike Scott

Mike Scott, age 58, of Tuscaloosa, died March 16, 2011, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Garner officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in Oakhill Cemetery in Jasper with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Myra Jeanne Scott.

Survivors include his wife, Lynn Ivey; his son, Jarrett Ivey; his sister, Pat Leonard (Owen); his father, George S. Scott (Jo); his nephew, John Leonard (Jaclyn); his great-nephew, Ethan Leonard; and his great-niece, Abby Leonard.

Mike was devoted to his family and was a hard worker. He had been fighting his illness for many years and is now at peace.

Honorary pallbearers are employees of Oak Grove Mine, Dr. Steve Lovelady and staff, West Alabama Family Practice, and DCH doctors and staff who cared for Mike.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
