Gerald Michial "Mike" Hodo, age 72, of Tuscaloosa, died Feb. 16, 2010, at Hospice of West Alabama. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Neal Hodo of McCalla officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marva Jo Marqua Hodo, his father, Gerald Manly Hodo, and his mother, Georgia May Hodo.
Survivors include his daughters, Michelle Hodo Bailey of Destin, Fla., Melissa Hodo of Tuscaloosa, Kathryn "Kay Kay" Hodo of Tuscaloosa, and Michial Mylynda Anderson and son-in-law Russ Anderson of McCalla; his son, William Manly Michial Hodo of Tuscaloosa; his uncle, Cecil Bramlett of Tuscaloosa; his sister, Louise Hodo Reynolds and brother-in-law Dr. Richard D. Reynolds of Tuscaloosa; his brother, Robert M. Hodo, Sr.; and special friends, Cindy Davis of Louisiana and Lisa Scully and Tony Harris of Tuscaloosa. He was expecting his first granddaughter in May.
Mike was a lifelong resident of Tuscaloosa. He served in the Alabama National Guard. He owned and operated Hodo Electric Company. He was a member of the Home Builders Association of Tuscaloosa.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama, First United Methodist Church of Tuscaloosa, and the Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter.
