

She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Rev L.S. and Brookey Channell and her father and mother-in-law, Sam B. Tingle, Sr and Ila Tingle.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years Sam B. Tingle Jr.; son Sam B. Tingle III (his girlfriend Cindy Kuhn); daughter Darlene Burkhalter (David); brother Lester Channell; sisters Barbara Smith, Sharon Vice and sister-in-law Linda Hayes in addition to a host of family and friends.
Linda was a loving wife of 59 years. She loved traveling to the beach with her husband, walking on the shore and picking up shells. She cherished her times that her family was gathered together and celebrating different occasions and holidays. She enjoyed the times that her and Sam would spend with friends drinking coffee, visiting or eating out. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, friend and a faithful Christian. She never missed an opportunity to tell others what Christ had done in her life and family. She loved singing and worshipping at church, gardening, canning and keeping her house clean and organized.
She retired from the University of Alabama, Computer Science Engineering.
Services will be at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, Saturday, December 16th at 11:00 AM officiated by Ronny Channell and Carol Smith. Visitation will be 10:00 AM.
