Lee Wilson Durden, age 52, of Tuscaloosa, died July 22, 2015, at home. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Michael Keeble officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, A Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Tuesday night from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.He was preceded in death by his son, Jordan Lee Durden; father, John Wayne Durden, Sr.; sister, Torey Durden Jones; brother, John Wayne Durden, Jr.; wife, Virginia Essary Durden; and nephew, Tristan Ainsley Jones.Survivors include his daughter, Candace Durden Fikes (Kyle) of Moundville; step-daughter, Victoria Lynn Lunceford (Jeffery) of Northport; sister, Anissa Durden Chandler of Birmingham; brother-in-law, Richard Jones (Maylene) and Dwight Chandler (Clarea); mother, Lebron W. Durden; step-father, W.C. Hammond, both of Monroeville, Ala.; grandchildren, Cooper Jordan Fikes and Sadie Paige Fikes of Moundville; step-granddaughter, Willow Lunceford; and step-grandchildren, Hayden Lunceford and Brylan Lunceford of Northport.Lee was originally from Monroeville, Ala. He attended the University of Alabama and made his home in Tuscaloosa. He was employed by Walter Energy for over 28 years. Lee enjoyed his job, being with friends, going out on the lake, and most of all his family. He adored his grandchildren who referred to him as "Big Daddy." He was known for his love of Alabama football and never missed a game. Lee will always be remembered for his kind heart and caring personality. Pallbearers will be Richard Jones, Patrick Jones, Brett Jones, Casey Jones, Garrett Chandler, Gavin Chandler, Dwight Chandler, and Daniel House.Honorary pallbearers are employees of Walter Energy, Brenda Jones, Grady, Karli Grace, Christy and Brian Kelly, Diane Shelton, and friends of the Lake Nicol community.
