A private burial service will be observed by the family. A reception will be held for friends and
family in the Fellowship Hall at First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa on Thursday from 4:30 - 6
p.m.
Fred, affectionately known as Dad, Granddaddy and Poppy, was born in Cullman, Alabama on
June 15, 1940 to Guy and Mamie Miller. Years later, he earned his Business degree at the
University of Alabama, which led to a 35 year career at the Alabama Power Company (APCO).
In his free time, Fred enjoyed watching Alabama football, playing golf, eating breakfast with
APCO men’s group and traveling with his wife and family. He was also a Master Gardener, a
member of the Home Builders Association - Tuscaloosa and a member of First Baptist Church
of Tuscaloosa, serving in the Second-Hand Rose Ministry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Diana Hardin Miller of Tuscaloosa; his children Larry
Miller (Lisa) of Alabaster, Kim Miller (Greg) of Tuscaloosa, Dallas Mueller (Don) of Atlanta; his
grandchildren Tara Miller, Mason Miller, Bryson Miller, Suzanne Miller, Will-Hardin Miller, Luke
Mueller, Diana Mueller, Anna Harper Mueller; his siblings Dean White of Murphreesboro, TN,
Frances Kilgo (Delwin), Frank Miller (Mattie), Mildren Reid all of Cullman; and many special
nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama or to
one’s favorite charity.
