Katie was a genuine and sincere person.  We knew her as a co-worker and through church affiliation.  She was dedicated to her job and her church.  We also knew she loved her family! Katie was truly exemplary in her deportment! 

You will be greatly  missed by the way you would make sure  that everyone  had a huge or hand shake  on Sunday  Morning. 

My sincere condolences extended to the family. Katie and I attended Tuskegee together and I remember her always having a smile on her face. May the Lord grant you peace and comfort at this time. This is not the end of the road, just a bend in the road.

Cousin Katie,
Thank you for allowing me to work side by side with you during our last "RICH" connection family reunion. We would always have prayer before each committee meeting. You were always so calm and soft spoken, very similar to Uncle Virgil, and with the same twinkle in your eye like your brother, Nathaniel. I remember how you softly tilted your head to one side after you finished expressing your opinion on different segments of the event. You said it was time to pass the torch on to the younger generation and to keep the reunions going( I pray our offspring will do just that), how we all needed to work together, and how much you appreciated the help. 
For as long as I can remember, you would always open your home up to friends, neighbors and relatives to come and celebrate for the New Year and there would be food placed throughout the office for dozens to come eat, fellowship, laugh, catch up, and enjoy one another without being asked to bring or pay for anything.(The good ol' days).We even had an occasion to just sit around and talk about life during a visit with you shortly after your husband passed. 
I was delighted when you asked me to be your makeup artist as you and William prepared to go to your sorority ball. You looked absolutely beautiful and I was very receptive of you telling me I could be your daughter that you never had. 
You sent me a text a few months ago and I could tell how happy you were.Through your life and your passing, I have gained new strength, wisdom and peace. I hope that your final makeup is as welcoming as your first.
